     Unassuming

     Hu Ge, 33, China

     Shanghai-born actor Hu Ge won big in his hometown on June 10. He was honored with a coveted Magnolia Award at the Shanghai Television Festival for his performance in the critically acclaimed show Nirvana in Fire (《琅琊榜》). The unassuming actor credited his success to good luck. “I’m lucky to have gotten this brilliant script and production team... I became a better actor thanks to this role,” he said in his acceptance speech. The actor flew to London after the awards ceremony to promote Shanghai to the world as the city’s tourism ambassador.

     甘道夫上海举牌“相亲”

    

     “甘道夫”伊恩爵爷趁着推广莎士比亚的空档，在上海体验了一把相亲文化。前不久，他现身上海人民公园著名的“相亲角”，还举牌为自己打广告“伊恩，77岁，1米8，剑桥大学毕业，在伦敦有房。”很多粉丝们直呼“爷爷太会玩儿了”。

     Ian McKellen, 77, UK

     Lord of the Rings star Ian McKellen was in Shanghai last weekend to promote Shakespearean works at the Shanghai International Film Festival. Aside from performing a Shakespeare play with Chinese actor Jiao Huang at the festival, the veteran actor also went native and experienced the marriage market culture in Shanghai’s People’s Park. Every weekend, parents go to the park to search for a match for their children. McKellen made a sign advertising himself as a prospective mate, writing down some of his key features like “77 years”, “Cambridge University” and “house in London”.

     吴彦祖批国内明星哈韩风

    

     近日，吴彦祖出席新片《冲天火》发布会，在谈到目前流行的花美男时，吴彦祖公开批评哈韩风气，表示韩系造型“头发很奇怪，又要上妆，男人不像男人”。之后，吴彦祖在Instagram上澄清自己并非攻击韩国明星，只是希望中国演员能坚持自己的风格。

     Androgynous

     Daniel Wu, 41, US

     While promoting his new film Sky on Fire (《冲天火》), actor Daniel Wu shared his perspective on androgynous stars: “I don’t quite understand why many Chinese actors are deliberately imitating South Korean stars with their eccentric hairstyles and makeup. Some men just don’t look like men.” Wu later took to Instagram to clarify that he was not attacking South Korean stars. He said he just hoped that Chinese actors would stick to their own style. “We should have our own style and creativity with substance and not copy other countries’ style or image just because it’s popular,” he wrote.

     欧阳娜娜演技遭吐槽

    

     由郭敬明担任总导演的电视剧《是!尚先生》已于上周开播，大提琴演奏家欧阳娜娜饰演女主鹿小葵，片中本应天真烂漫的女主却被欧阳娜娜的浮夸演技诠释成了智商堪忧，网友在吐槽的同时更多是惋惜地表示娜比应该更关注自己的大提琴事业。

     Pompous

     Ouyang Nana, 16, China

     A three-minute video clip from Yes! Mr Fashion (《是!尚先生》), a hit drama that was a critical flop, has been reposted nearly 100,000 times on Sina Weibo. In the video, Lu Xiaokui, played by Ouyang Nana, soliloquizes to plants and toys and does other bizarre things. “I haven’t seen such a stupid character in a long time,” the blogger who shared the video wrote. Though the show is roundly mocked, Ouyang in particular has become the butt of jokes for her pompous acting. “I think she should have spent more time and energy on her cello career instead of pursing fame and wealth in showbiz,” one internet user said.

     马上学：Pompous形容“浮夸的”。文中butt不是常见的“屁股，烟蒂”的意思，在这里指“笑柄”。

     吴亦凡方回应爆料风波

    

     这两天吴亦凡身陷爆料风波，事情从一位名为“小G娜”的网友自称吴亦凡女友，并质问其消失而起。对此，吴亦凡工作室发声明称，女友之事纯属虚构。16日傍晚，吴亦凡工作室官方认证微博就网上有关吴亦凡感情与交友问题的不实言论及部分自媒体恶意炒作的现象，发布一份“律师声明”，称事件中大量图像音频系伪造剪辑，将通过法律途径维护当事人权利。

     Former EXO member Kris Wu (Yifan) is fighting claims made by a woman who claims to be his girlfriend. The woman posted pictures of a man who looks identical to Kris on Sina Weibo. She wrote, "Kris has stopped contacting me all of a sudden. Shouldn't he at least have said, ‘Let's break up?’" Meanwhile, Kris's agency has denied the allegations by saying that they are lies and that the company would sue for damages to the star’s reputation.
